Brandt Point Lighthouse

After your ship clears the Nantucket breakwater and you enter into Nantucket Harbor, Brandt Point lighthouse beckons you to pass it and make the hard turn to starboard to reach the town's piers. I was here at the beach hoping to get a good shot of the incoming ferry from Hyannis but the light was so good I had to make a series of images of this iconic structure.

The station was established in 1746 and is still in operation. The current tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 28, 1987; it has the distinction of being the tenth light on the point
