Siena
When in Tuscany an obligatory stop you must make, central Siena. You're looking at one of the narrow streets that leads down to the Piazza del Campo, the center of the city. It is the site of the twice-yearly Palio horse races when the city's neighborhoods compete. This couple is taking in the Mangia Tower at the Palazzo Pubblico, the city’s town hall. Its height was meant to symbolize the city's free communes and their liberation from feudal power. It was built between 1338 and 1348.
